Founded in 1922, the Southern Association of Wholesale Distributors, known as “the Southern” (formerly recognized as the Southern Tobacco and Candy Association), serves as a regional trade association spanning 14 states. It advocates for the interests of both corporations and individuals engaged in the manufacturing, sales, and distribution of convenience products.

The membership comprises wholesalers, manufacturers, brokers, and other stakeholders in the convenience products industry. Covering the entire journey from production to market, the association offers a comprehensive range of benefits and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of its channel members.

The member states encompass Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
